Professional meetings: a new obligation deadline approaches in March 2020!
Since the law of 5 March 2014, a company in France must, every two years, organize a professional interview for employees to discuss their career development prospects.
It must also, every 6 years, hold a so-called "summary" interview to review their career path. The first summary interviews will therefore be held from March 2020 for employees who have been in the workforce for at least 6 years.
Although the law does not set a deadline, the interview must be held within one month of the anniversary date of the employee's hiring.
Be careful to respect the deadline and keep proof that all professional interviews have taken place. Keep a proper written or digital record. Failure to do so may result in a corrective contribution to the employee's personal training account.
In practice, the summary interview can be organized at the same time as the last biennial interview. There is therefore no need to hold two different interviews. But two separate reports will have to be drawn up.
One last point: what to do if your employee refuses to attend the interviews?
We advise you to keep written proof of this refusal so that you can demonstrate, in the event of an audit or investigation, the proper respect of your obligations.
