Over the past few years, Quality of Life at Work has become a major HR issue. Beyond the statutory duty to negotiate in such matters, employers have increasingly come to realise that Quality of Life at Work will enhance not only the workforce’s well-being, but economic and social performance as well. In the drive to recruit and retain the best talent, Quality of Life at Work is thus perceived as a factor that will prove critical to the employer’s “brand”, and a significant factor in minimising workplace- and related hazards.
This breakfast briefing will cover the following ground:
1. Quality of Life at Work: avoiding gender discrimination, anti-smoking campaigns, equal opportunity for the disabled … should limits be set to the drive to achieve Quality of Life at Work?
2. Quality of Life at Work and mandatory negotiations
- designing the right approach, diagnosing the current state of affairs, experimenting and stabilising: four stages to reaching an operational agreement on Quality of Life at Work.
why a so-called accord de méthode (methodological agreement) in view of negotiating an agreement on Quality of Life at Work may well prove worthwhile.
- Innovations and trends observed in the agreements signed since the statutory duty to negotiate came into force.
3. Quality of Life at Work and health at work: warding off pandemics; psycho-social risks; impact of exposure to workplace- and related hazards.
